Paralegal Work
Paralegals have a wide range of tasks and responsibilities that are essential to maintaining a functioning law firm of any large size. Most paralegal work consists of duties that are similar to lawyers, but the difference is that in most cases, paralegals are not litigators in court or authorized to engage in certain aspects of the legal profession. Nevertheless, paralegals often handle things like research, organizing cases and files, assisting lawyers in cases, answering the phone, and managing the day to day inner workings of the office in general. As you can imagine, when a paralegal is able to handle these tasks, the lawyers are able to spend more time on the actual cases.
